![]() These default values correspond to the TCS per-patch output variables gl_TessLevelOuter and gl_TessLevelInner. When pname is GL_PATCH_DEFAULT_INNER_LEVEL, values is a 2-element array of floats defining the two inner tessellation levels. When pname is GL_PATCH_DEFAULT_OUTER_LEVEL, values is a 4-element array of floats defining the four outer tessellation levels. Void glPatchParameterfv(GLenum pname, const GLfloat * values) These are defined by the following function: The amount of tessellation done in this case is taken from default values set into the context. If no TCS is active in the current program or program pipeline, then the patch data is passed directly from the Vertex Shader invocations to the tessellation primitive generation step. Therefore, for each patch provided by the application, one patch will be provided to the next tessellation stage. However, a TCS cannot discard a patch (directly it can do so indirectly), nor can it write multiple patches. The TCS can change the size of a patch, adding more vertices per-patch or providing fewer. Perform any special transformations on the input patch data. ![]() Determine the amount of tessellation that a primitive should have. The first step of tessellation is the optional invocation of a tessellation control shader (TCS). Main article: Tessellation Control Shader Fortunately, the Post-Transform Cache should help mitigate the performance impact of providing more indices. If you need to do something like triangle strips, you should use Indexed Rendering to get similar behavior, though it will not reduce the number of vertices in the index list. So for a given vertex stream, every group of value number of vertices will be a separate patch. Patch primitives are always a sequence of individual patches there is no such thing as a "patch strip" or "patch loop" or such. The maximum number of patch vertices is implementation-dependent, but will never be less than 32. With GL_PATCH_VERTICES as target and a value which has is on the half-open range [1, GL_MAX_PATCH_VERTICES). Void glPatchParameteri(GLenum pname, GLint value) The number of vertices per patch can be defined on the application-level using: A patch primitive is a general-purpose primitive, where every n vertices is a new patch primitive. Tessellation stages operate on patches, a primitive type denoted by the constant GL_PATCHES. The Tessellation Evaluation Shader (TES) takes the tessellated patch and computes the vertex values for each generated vertex. ![]() The tessellation primitive generator takes the input patch and subdivides it based on values computed by the TCS or provided as defaults. The TCS is optional default tessellation values can be used if no TCS is provided. Without this protection, gaps and breaks in what are supposed to be contiguous patches can occur. So if you have two adjacent patches that need to have different levels of tessellation, the TCS invocations for the different patches need to use their tessellation controls to ensure that the shared edge(s) between the patches use the same level of tessellation. Therefore, the TCS is primarily responsible for ensuring continuity across patches. The Tessellation Control Shader (TCS) determines how much tessellation to do (it can also adjust the actual patch data, as well as feed additional patch data to later stages). Each stage of the tessellation pipeline performs part of this process. Generally, the process of tessellation involves subdividing a patch of some type, then computing new vertex values (position, color, texture coordinates, etc.) for each of the vertices generated by this process. They are described below, in the order they are processed. Two of the stages are programmable between them is a fixed function stage. The tessellation process is divided into three stages which form an optional part of Vertex Processing in the rendering pipeline. ![]() Note: This describes the OpenGL 4.0 feature, not the old gluTess* tessellation functionality. ![]()

Bartolo was 39 years old this past season, the same age as Mussina in 2008 and just two years younger than Blyleven in his 1992 season. The end result of all this was one of the better season’s of Mussina’s very distinguished career and one of the greatest final seasons for a pitcher in the history of the game.īartolo Colon ranks in the top ten twice, with more than 22 percent of his total pitches as called strikes in both his 20 seasons. This unique demonstration of pinpoint control helped contribute to a fine strikeout rate and an phenomenally low walk rate of just 3.8 percent, with both his ERA and FIP for that season rated as 20 percent better than the league. Amazingly, one of every four pitches Mussina threw in the 2008 season were called strikes. Mike Mussina, however, was much more fortunate in his farewell act%mdash a season in which he posted the highest called strike percentage on record. So it’s uncertain whether this was a common approach for Blyleven, or if it was an adjustment he made in the twilight of his career. It’s worth mentioning that Blyleven was also 41 years old at the time, while also returning from rotator cuff surgery that kept him out of the entire 1991 season. This historical distinction didn’t have particularly favorable consequences for Blyleven, however, as he finished the 1992 season with a largely forgettable 117 ERA. ![]() With the exception of Blyleven’s final season in 1992, all of the top called strike seasons have occurred in the past decade, with six of the 10 occurring in the last three years. Realizing that I have never read an article outlining the more extreme seasons regarding these topics, I decided to use the retrosheet files from 1988-2012 to compile some of the more interesting seasons within that time frame. After reveling in its wonder all this time, it may be almost impossible to remember those dark ages, when we were unable to track velocity, movement, and location so conveniently and on a large scale.īut prior to the PITCHf/x era, we still had some very fascinating and useful information available to us regarding called strike and swing-and-miss rates, strike-to-ball ratios, contact percentages and other anecdotal details of how individual pitcher’s strategies varied. Overall I am happy we have the NPS and while this park isn't one of my favorites for revisiting purposes, I am sure there are others who enjoy it. The land is pretty in this area with rolling hills and distant mountains, so I took a lot of the hiking trails (which were marginally marked, didn't match the trail path on the map, and most of which just walk through open fields) and still had done everything in 4-hours. Of course, the cemetery is a deserving memorial to the incredible number of lives lost. I suppose this is for war buffs and people super familiar with the battle details. They have a handful of decorative cannons thrown about and LOTS of plaques about General XYZ attacked this direction at 7AM type stuff, but other than that, not sure what a tourist does here (particularly if you have kids to be entertained, god help you). I definitely appreciate the preservation of the park and having the undeveloped land. So, IDK, I guess a certain type of person loves these battlefield sites, and it isn't really me. I didn't take the long trail back through the woods as intended, which I did the past 2 times, because one if my pups hurt her leg yesterday and was a little slow today. Or unless you just want to take a hike and seeing the falls is just something extra. It's still nice to see but I don't recommend making a special trip out just to see. If you look closely near the top, you will see several mini falls. Think the distribution of water at the top probably determines the size of the falls. Maybe after a huge rain storm, the falls would get bigger. This is the 3rd time I have been here and the falls is smaller than I had hope. There are bugs in the trails, wear bug spray!! When you get to the falls, there is a short boardwalk that leads to the falls. If you have stability concerns, walk with someone and rely on them for support.
